Certain checks and servicing should be carried out at regular intervals in order to minimise the risk for unexpected malfunctions during operations. Below is a maintenance list to be carried out after each use and further below recommendations at 6 monthly and annual intervals by the crew.
After each time of usage.
After each time of usage, check the installation and components for signs of leakage, clean the sensor if necessary. Also check the level in the cleaning solution tank and refill or replace if required. It’s also important to check the oil level in the sample pump shaft seal. With the older units the amount of paper in the thermal printer has to be checked, and the roll replaced if necessary for safeguarding an interrupted operation during the following discharge.

Every six months.
All components have to be inspected to ensure secure mounting, clamping of cables when signs of of damage is present, and also check the cables to the analysing unit along their entire length with respect to any signs of chafe, wear or other damage and the bulkhead penetrations to be in a secure condition.
Recommendation for a yearly health check.
Full operational functionality of the unit, is very important on tankers because when it's not operational the vessel is not officially allowed by class to leave the port until the unit is in working order according to the manufacturers standards and this can turn up in huge losses.
Due to the above we advise to do a yearly health check on the system by an approved service engineer.
Regularly our engineers attend vessels to execute this health check but we also advise periodic service and servicing as above described.
