One of our main priorities is to maintain the knowledge level with the newest and latest equipment and developments. We organise in-house training sessions and training sessions in the factory or on site with our principle manufacturers. This week one of our engineers travelled to Osaka, Japan in order to accomplish a full range training at Sunflame Co. Ltd., a company recognized as being a world leading manufacturer of the rotary cup burner. Sunflame designs and fabricates incinerators and boiler burners for marine vessels. Sunflame had set up an extensive training schedule for our engineer and a few other engineers from other agents worldwide, where the entire product range was handled. The engineers made a full factory tour throughout the company, along all its departments and through the factory, where they received step-by-step production process explanation.
After the company tour the training had started about the control, regulation, customization and adjustment of the burner software; it was practiced on a training boiler and a training rotary cup burner (such as the SR-350 series burner). Later on, the engineers have mainly been busy with the overhauling and upgrading of the Block pipe units along the overhauling of the rotary cup burners of the SR-350 series, as well as explaining and overhauling training of burners from the SDR- 1000 / SDR-1500 series.
Last but certainly not least they were involved in the ceramic board installation training. This has been theoretical with a practical exercise later in the day. The ceramic board installation on the inside of the burner has various advantages compared to conventional refractory; it can be done by the crew itself, there is a very short 10 minute/piece replacement time and they are very light weight (about 800 grams/piece instead of 25kg/box). This principle is the latest invention on incinerator maintenance.
