As Vessel berthed at the Port of Antwerp in week 19 Ravebo was requested by V-ships (whom is the manager of this vessel) to attend the vessel for the calibration of the two Georim GBA-155, 15-PPM bilge alarm system’s and the KSB Seres ODME System. Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19 and the closing of the Belgium border our service engineers had to take safety regulations for themselves and the others around them, for this they took the following actions:
• They had to apply for special papers to cross the Dutch – Belgium Border;
• They wore gloves and face masks on top of their usual PPM’s;
• Hand sanitizer was in there equipment;
• They kept a safe distance between their selves and the crew.

The engineers started their job by the inspection of the KSB Seres ODME (S-3000 series). Together with the crew they took there step by step test procedure containing the sensor check if the sensor was recording and respond correctly, overall run test of the system up to the valve checks for overboard and slob tank valves The system responded correctly and worked as it should.
When the permission was given to work on the Georim GBA-155 Bilge alarm system’s they continued their work as followed, one of the engineers started on the older type (these still have the Time IC and S-Ram Module) and the other engineer started on the newer type (these have a battery in the door PCB). The older system onboard the Time-IC and S-Ram need to be replaced after two year due to the fact that the components will only last for approximately two years before they will lose date and time. The new System containing the battery they had to check the voltage of the battery if this drops below the 3.6 the battery needs replacement. When the check were done on the system, containing:
• Overall check of the system and components;
• 0 PPM check and adjustment if needed;
• 15 PPM check and adjustment if needed;
• High PPM check;
• Date and Time (GMT);
• Data and run check.
The engineers issued the new original certificates from Georim and the service report for the 15ppm monitors as well the certificate for the ODME, when all was signed they left the vessel knowing that the emission control is guaranteed.
