Expert Calibration of Pressure Recorders at Ravebo
Introduction to Pressure Recorders
One type of equipment that often comes by our workshop are pressure recorders. Pressure recorders are used with chart paper (usually 24 hours) to monitor the pressure at a certain point. Most pressure recorders are fully mechanical; they don’t require electricity and due to their simplicity, they are very durable and can withstand a lot of wear. They are completely analogue; even the records are made on traditional paper with a pen. Pressure recorders aren’t that common on shipping vessels but are used a lot i.e., in the (pipe working) construction and on drilling platforms/vessels.
Urgent Calibration Request
Recently, we received an urgent request from one of our customers; they had a batch of eight chart recorders due for calibration. Since this equipment is critical for drilling executions, the recorders had to be turned around as soon as possible. Equipment for drilling executions is heavy-duty equipment, just like these pressure recorders having ranges up to 2,000 bar / 30,000 PSI.
Fast Turnaround and Customer Satisfaction
We instructed our engineers in the workshop and the moment the recorders arrived, they were picked up by them. We coordinated the presence of spare parts, which were indeed required on some units. You always have to be prepared. Within 48 hours after arrival, we had the units inspected, repaired where required, calibrated, certified, and ready to go. We coordinated with the customer's freight forwarder, and the units were quickly delivered back on board. Vessel happy, client happy, Ravebo happy.
